Alice Tunnell completed her Bachelor of Educaation degree at the University of Alberta and completed her Marsters of Education degree from the University of Calgary. She started her teaching career teaching Kindergarten and then moved up the grades until she her final year in Grade 5. She worked with her students to give them exposure and experiences with creating pieces of art, ceramics, and using lots of different mediums and techniques. She continues to teach adult workshops using alcohol inks and acrylic. Their enthusiasm and paintings inspire her to continue working with people to offer her experiences with art and to impart to them what she has learned as an artist. Alice also taught Music in classes in her school and loved the idea of imparting her musical knowledge to the students.
Alice is mostly self taught, but took a watercolour class which was the beginning of putting the paint on the canvas. She works with watercolours, acrylics, resin, and alcohol inks to created her art.
Alice Tunnell is an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Okanagan Chapter. She was the President of the Okanagan Artists Coalition for 3 years and paints with the West Kelowna Artist group. She has shown her work at Peachland Art Gallery, Lake Country Art Gallery, and Penticton Art Gallery. Alice has participated is art shows at various venues around the Okanagan.
Her work can be found in private collections in North America, the UK, and Belize.
